Emily Dickinson must get again in contact with nature — and Veep‘s Timothy Simons is right here to assist.
TVLine has an unique first take a look at this week’s Dickinson (airing Friday, Jan. 15 on Apple TV+), with Simons guest-starring as famed panorama architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed New York City’s Central Park, amongst others. In the clip beneath, Austin excitedly introduces his father and Emily to Olmsted, and Emily acknowledges him as the person who’s designing the park in the midst of Manhattan. When she asks what he plans to name it, he replies, “Oh, I’m considering Central Park.” (“It’s good. It’s not nice,” Emily’s father concludes.)
The scruffy Olmsted can also be designing Amherst’s city commons, and to take action, he must get a really feel for the land, kneeling down and choosing up handfuls of grass to smell. (“This is his course of,” Austin marvels.) He lets the land converse to him… however as he tells Emily, it hasn’t mentioned something but. She appears impressed, although. Maybe she’s off to pen an ode to Amherst’s fertile soil?
