TJ Holmes has signed on as co-anchor of the third hour of “Good Morning America”, a person with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap on Friday.
He will join ABC News’s Amy Robach on the afternoon program called “GMA3: What You Need to Know” in light of the Coronavirus and related hard news.
Co-anchoring will begin at Holmes from Monday. Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News’ chief medical correspondent, also appears frequently on the show, will play a leading role.
Robach, who is the co-anchor of “20/20”, has been reporting medical and current events in a 1pm ET slot hosted by Michael Strehan, Sarah Hass and KK Palmer since the coronovaire epidemic began. The Hour has seen many rebellions, from “GMA Day” to “Strahan and Sarah” to “GMA 3: Strane, Sarah and KK”.
When the epidemic began, the hour became “Pandemic: Do You Want to Know”. Now, it’s “GMA3: What You Need to Know.”
Robach has been with ABC News since 2012 and Holmes has been with the company since 2014. While “GMA3” was intended to showcase softer and more entertaining content at its inception, it is clear that the epidemic has shifted away from a focus on ABC News. Good food offerings for hard news.
