Robert Redford and his household are mourning the death of his son James, who handed away after a battle with liver most cancers at age 58.
“The grief is immeasurable with the loss of a kid,” Redford’s rep, Cindi Berger, instructed Page Six in a press release on Tuesday. “Jamie was a loving son, husband and father. His legacy lives on by means of his kids, artwork, filmmaking and devoted ardour to conservation and the setting.”
Redford, 84, “is mourning together with his household throughout this troublesome time and asks for privateness,” the assertion concluded.
James, a documentary filmmaker, died at house in Marin County, Calif., on Friday. He had been awaiting a liver transplant. The information of his passing was first confirmed by his spouse, Kyle Redford, in a tweet.
“We’re heartbroken. He lived an attractive, impactful life & was cherished by many,” she wrote, sharing a number of household images. “As his spouse of 32 yrs, I’m most grateful for the 2 spectacular kids we raised collectively. I do not know what we’d’ve executed w/o them over the previous 2yrs.”
In 2005, James and his father co-founded the Redford Center, which “makes use of impact-driven movie and media to speed up environmental and local weather justice, options and restore,” based on its web site.
James was Redford’s son together with his ex-wife Lola Van Wagenen. The pair had 4 kids collectively: James, daughters Shauna and Amy, and son Scott, who died of sudden toddler death syndrome in 1959.
