#3 Mongoose

Mongoose is an interesting card game that you can play with your group. However, 4 players is an ideal number that gives the best result due to the equal distribution of cards. If more than 4 players are joining the game then you may use an extra deck of cards.

The principle behind this game is you have to finish your cards at the end of the game. And the person who left with no cards, in the end, will win this game and the one who left with cards is called Mongoose with as many legs as the remaining cards. (such as 4 legged if 4 cards left, 6 legged if 6 cards left).

How to play

Firstly, all cards will be divided among participants. You will have 2 piles labeled Open and Close. The first player will open a card from the closed pile and put it aside to start an open pile.

If the second person’s card is one digit above then the first person then that higher card will be placed on top such as 10 will be placed above 9(ignoring the dresses of the card as Diamonds, Spades, Clubs, or Hearts).

If someone has not put the greater card in the center and put it in his own deck then you can call him/her a mongoose and every person playing the game will give that defaulter a card. If there is an ace it would be placed separately.

Note: No Joker cards are used in this game.

#2 War

If you want to play a 2 player game then War is the best option. This is very simple in which you don’t need to talk about any particular rule. Just remember the cards for this game in ascending order: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, J, Q, K, and A.

How to Play

So, the cards will be randomly divided between 2 people without knowing their card’s identity. The one which is having a higher card number(9) will take that lower card(8) along with their card.

The process will continue and both players will pick cards in their turn but if the same card opens by both the players then it’s a WAR just like Game of Thrones.

WAR Card Games

Then, both players will place 3 unopened cards aside from the same card and the one who is having the greater card number will take all the cards and become the winner.

Rare situation: When both players got the same cards again that is WAR on WAR. In this case, follow the same procedure again and put 3 cards aside from the same card.

Rarest of the rare: If that card is also the same. In that scenario, all the opened cards go out of the game and nobody will get a card.

#1 Clock

CLOCK is one of my favorite card games because I can play it alone without any third person at my home. Moreover, the solo game has simple rules that are easy to understand and implement.

How to play

The place you are sitting will be 12 o’Clock and you will set cards in a clockwise pattern as 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13 at the center. You will continue to set these cards 🎴 until each deck has 4 cards.

The main aim of the game is that you hate Kings cards and you don’t want them. So, you open the card from each deck and put it at the place where its number belongs as labeled in the photo. via YouTube

You will continue to open the cards until you find a King. If you find a king then you will put that in the center and open a card in the center deck and continue the game. and do the same with the second king, and the third king.

But when you get the fourth king, you lose the game. So, how will you win? Just try to finish the clock without getting all the four kings. This is a good game for small kids to learn about the working of a clock.
