A Berwick landlady has been left livid after being threatened with closure by officers policing the city on the day of the Old Firm derby.

There was a heavy police presence on Saturday after Celtic and Rangers followers had been urged to not flock to the realm to look at the match.

The two groups locked horns for the primary time this season over the weekend, however with pubs and eating places shut down throughout Scotland’s central belt, there have been fears many had been seeking to journey additional afield to look at the highest of the desk conflict.

Margaret Straughan, licensee of the Brewers Arms, stated in the course of the week she had fielded “a whole lot” of calls from supporters desperate to catch the motion and had chosen to not show the match.
