The Italian ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a navy policeman travelling with him have been killed in an assault on a United Nations convoy in jap DRC, the Italian international ministry mentioned in a press release.
The convoy was attacked on Monday close to the city of Kanyamahoro at roughly 10:15am (08:15 GMT) as a part of a kidnap try, the Virunga National Park advised Reuters.
The Italian ambassador, Luca Attanasio, and a navy policeman travelling with him had been killed, the Italian international ministry mentioned in a press release.
