CCTV appeal after ‘violent assault’ following face mask row on a Metro train

A person was attacked and left in hospital after difficult a group of males over not sporting a face masking on the Metro.

Police are investigating the incident which occurred on board a train between Pelaw and Fellgate and have now launched CCTV photos of 4 males they need to hint in connection.

At round 4.15pm on Sunday May 2, the sufferer is claimed to have challenged three male passengers about not sporting a face masking.

One of the lads tried to take away the sufferer’s mask and an altercation happened which concerned the sufferer being punched, the British Transport Police stated.

The different males and members of the general public intervened, earlier than a fourth man allegedly eliminated his belt and started to strike these concerned.

The sufferer needed to attend hospital, struggling a fractured cheekbone and fractured ribs.
